I'm kind of confused when you have to send your letters. I just checked my application status and my transcript and app were mailed to TUSPM and NYCPM (the only schools I'm applying to) today. So I hope to hear about an interview soon. However, I wasn't sure if they don't give an interview until they receive the LORs. I sent my premed adviser an email a week ago to send out all my LORs, but I'm waiting on a pod letter. I want to get more experience shadowing him before asking for a letter so I'd like to delay that as long as I can. I read in an old thread that someone got into Temple without that letter but the acceptance was contingent on sending in that letter? Can you really wait that long? That would be the only letter I'm missing.

IIRC both temple and nycpm will extend an interview before they recieve your LORs and will accept you contingent on your LOR. But you should call or email the schools just to double check.

Don't forget that temple requires 2 LORs from Doctors with atleast 1 being from a podiatrist.

Goodluck!

Yup, I already have one from a DO. I'll make sure to shoot the admissions offices an email. Thanks for the quick response 😀

I'm at temple right now. I had all the required letters but interviewed before I had a podiatrist write a letter, although I had shadowed a couple of them. After the temple interview I was extended a seat and didn't ever send in a podiatrist LOR!!! Oh well, my point is, get your letters there to cover you bases, but you will probably get an interview without them. And the sooner you get your interview the better. Again, don't use my poor example as an excuse. Get the interview, then get your letters there ASAP.

I interviewed at Temple without any letters of rec submitted to that school.
