I took the DATs a few weeks ago and did alrite, but the angle ranking on the PAT was a real beeyotch. It's virtually impossible to tell the difference between some of these angles... no matter how strong your perceptive skills are. I can always whittle it down to two choices (ie 4231 or 2431), and then it's usually a 50/50 guess. And to add to the difficulty, the lines of the angles are all pixellated like the lines you get when you use MS paint line tool to draw something... and some of the angles doent even meet properly at the ends. The ADEA should definitely consider using thicker lines or vector graphics for their tests. right?

I totally agree with you. I was so used to practicing on a flatscreen monitor that was not "fuzzy" that when I took the actual test on the older monitors, I bombed it. I felt like the angle ranking was especially difficult. I guess there is nothing to do about it...

I usually averaged 22-25 on the PAT, but got an 18. i was surprised, but 18 isnt that bad either. But you all understand what i mean.

Do you feel like your score on this section was significantly lower than practice tests? I usually average 12-13 and it is an important part of my overall score. Would you say your score would go from like 12 to 6? How much change do you feel? I know you actually didn't get to see your school. Thanks,

looks like the designer of the PAT scan in the perceptual test( probbaly from the older paper format) and stretch it on the screen. this is why the pixels is all messed up on the whole section, not just angle ranking. but i wonder do they did this on purpose to really test our perceptual skills, since in the real world not everthing is going to be perfect. i mean nearly everone is scoring above 20 on the practice PAT, and this is with everything clearly drawn. but with the real DAT, the scores of the PAT has a wide spectrum, i have seen scores from 12 to 24. i mean if they use vector graphics to draw all their figures, this is probbaly be too simple.

Same here. I actually didn't study PAT the last week before my exam day.

My PAT score on the DATs was a few points lower than what I usually got on the practice tests.... and I'm positive it was cuz of the angle ranking section. But I don't think it would go from a 12 to a 6... also, if you're getting 12s on the practice tests, you should really try to work on getting that up a few pts before taking tha actual DATs... use the Kaplan book
