I was hoping for some advice here. I really want to go to UMASS, and I'm seriously thinking going ED. My GPA is 3.92 (from Mount Holyoke) and MCAT 33O. Lots of art extracurriculars, research experience, job, I'm taking my year off to do the whole "life experience" thing, typical stuff. I'm pretty sure I'd get in somewhere if I did the whole apply to 15 schools regular decision, but I really want UMASS, and finding out early would be fantastic. What do you think my chances are of getting in ED? I'm just afraid of the risk of maybe having to send out the rest of my applications late... (I'm also not sure of the strength of my essay, I'm not the greatest writer, it's pretty good, I think, but probably not stellar).

help? advice? thanks...

wanted to qualify the MCAT's 'cause I guess that's useful...

VR: 12
PS: 10
BS: 11

thanks much!

Definitely go early. My stats were similar (although a slightly lower MCAT). I was really apprehensive about the whole EDP process, but I really wanted to go to UMass and I was willing to hurt my chances at other schools. It sounds like you'll get in at some point (if not early, then in the regular pool) so it can't hurt. During my year, about 12-15 people applied early, 7 were interviewed, and 6 were accepted. It saves a ton of stress and money and you'll find out Oct. 1st! Talk to your pre-med advisor if you're still unsure.

Good luck!

Well if I end up having the same stats as you I am defenitely going to apply early. So I would recommend doing it, and then tell me how it goes.
