Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what my chances are for matching into a Rad/Onc program. I am a fmg, but citizen. scores for step 1 85 and step 2 87. first attempt. I would appreciate any help. Thanks🙂
honestly, not very good. IMGS (which is what you are, not an FMG if youre a US citizen) even at the top of the pile are having a hard time. Unless your scores are stellar and/or you have some other very special things in your Cv (impressive research etc) its just going to be a very uphill battle. I would also ask you did a radonc rotation? many IMGs dont get a chance through their school.
He is referring to the 2nd part of the score, which is not a percentile. Generally scores are reported like 250/99 or 230/90. Some states prefer to use the 2-digit number instead of the 3-digit number.
the use of the two digit (which was correctly identified as NOT being a %ile- a common misconception) is relatively new in use. not sure why people have started using it more often.
