I posted in the sticky thread with no luck so I thought I would try here.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know what my chances are of being accepted into any of the 4 year programs.

MCAT: Changed...


Undergrad cGPA: 3.85, Undergrad sGPA: 3.90

I have above average extracurriculars and will also be in the process of a Master's degree in Molecular Biology when I apply.

As long as you can pay the tuition, I practically guarantee you'll be accepted with those scores somehwhere in a British medical school. 4-year GEP will be tough, though. They are designed for local applicants to train local doctors....it's going to be hard for them to entertain you. You gotta get past their entrance exam, though. MCAT is pretty useless over there.

What nonsense. Plenty of people have straight As their whole life, a first class degree, and a PhD and still don't get in! Yes that's uncommon but it happens probably more than you would think and you should never guarantee acceptance. While we definitely like international fees it's easier to buy your way in in the US than here.

You have a very good shot at getting in provided your extra curriculars are good and you write a decent personal statement but acceptance is by no means guaranteed. You still need to pick where to apply very carefully as different schools are more bothered by different aspects of the application.

Chances are good in the Irish 4-years with those scores (provided you're not hiding a criminal record or something).

nicemsp-your gpa is great but your mcat even though it's decent i think as already mentioned its useless when applying to school in UK/Ireland. the schoos do require an entrace exam. but as already stated the school you choose should match with what you want to specialize in later on 🙂

UCC, RCSI, UCD, NUIG, and UL all require and consider the MCAT for 4 year program admissions.
