im kinda wondering
what i should do for my second and third year of college
currently im a freshman and will complete chem 1 and 2 and biology 1
this year
that leaves me with the need to complete another bio class and physics and organic

im worried
should i take physics and organic at the sametime during second year?
or
should i take organic my second year
and then the physics class my 3rd year

feel free to tell me your schedules lol..

people tend to take the mcat there junior and senior year right?
i was hoping to take a mcat prep class over my sophmore transit to junior summer
and another during my junior year..
would you think that
the physics on the mcat is very difficult in terms of memorization of some formula's and the ability to be able to use them?

My course load for the pre-requisite requirements is:

Freshman Year (including summer semester): Chem 1 and 2, physics 1 (algebra based), calc 1 and 2

Sophomore Year: Physics 2, ochem 1 and 2, bio 1 and 2

mcats are taken in a similar time fashion as SAT's in high school (well at least for my HS) so yes, junior and senior year.

Though some schools you may have to do that earlier, for example, USUHS starts accepting applications from AMCAS in March of your Junior year, and because it's rolling admissions, the earlier you have your mcats in the earlier you have the possibility of getting an interview and therefore a spot. So your current plan sounds good, but I'm heading towards the mcat during my fall semester and if need be a retake during spring semester and leaving it alone after that, assuming I do well, that is.

Hope that helps!

Here is what I am doing.
soph year (now); Taking both O.Chem and Physics, plan to take the MCAT during the summer (with kaplan course). that way If I do bad my first time, I have plenty of time to study and retake it.
Junior and Senior year upper level Bio courses (all 200 and 300 level)

I did:

Freshman year: bio I & II, chem I
Sophomore year: chem II, physics I & II, cell, genetics
Summer after sophomore year: organic I & II
Junior year: anatomy & physiology I & II, biochem, MCAT

worked out pretty well for me. didn't really plan it that way, though. just kind of happened that way. biochem, physiology, and genetics are helpful before preparing for the MCAT.

I'm a freshman now... My schedule will look something like this.

Freshman year fall: Physics I... winter: Physics II, Calc I

Summer (to catch up): Calc II, Gen Chem I (which I wanted to take in the winter, but my pre-med advisor seemed adamantly against it...)

Sophomore year fall: Gen Chem II, Bio I... Winter: Bio II, Orgo I

And I'm debating when to take Orgo II... Either the summer or the following fall.

I really wish I had signed up for Chem I this winter so I could have completed by requirements by the end of my sophomore year, used the summer for MCAT prep, and finished the test... Especially being a humanities major, the hard break would have been nice.
