Well...I just took the DAT today. As many of us know the most feared day of the year.. Well at least in my case my fear was not well represented. The test was really not that difficult. It is definetely managable. I finally get to throw my scores out there and relax. Not great scores, but at least I don't have to retake the exam.. Good luck to all

Schedule:
I studied sporadically in the spring semester, then hit it pretty hard for about three weeks before the test.

Materials:
Kaplan online class, but it was not all that usefull except for the data base of tests.
GRE Math Book
Cliffnotes Gen Chem Excercises-Well worth the 12 Bucks

Scores:
AA-21
TS-23
RC-20
QR-16
PAT-20

What were you scoring on practice tests before you went in to take the real thing? It looks as if we are applying to 6 of the same schools!

Practice test I was anywhere from around 16 when I started to well over 20 toward the end. Kaplan tests normally around 20 and Topscore around 19. If you have access to the kaplan subject tests I would use those to learn rather than gauge how ready you are. From my experience those were about twofold more difficult than the real thing. Hope this helps

that is a great job! 🙂 now you get to enjoy some free time. your scores are really consistent except in the qr section. did you run out of time? I have heard that since the qr section is last, many people do run out of time. I know I did on my practice test.

But the QR section is separate from all the other sections - that is, you get 45 min, and how much time you spent on the other sections doesn't impact your QR time. What I have heard though is that ppl are often burned out by the end- plus if you don't know quick algebra tricks, then your score starts to crash.

ooops, what I meant to say was that since this section is last... people tend to run out of energy and therefore... run out of time to finish the section. that happened to me. 🙂

Yeah math was the subject I studied the least. The GRE mathbook was alright, There is alot of material. I do wish now that I would have spent more time on it, but like all together I really didn't worry about math at all when studying. I did run out of time on the math section and had to just guess on the last few. Admissions commitees look at math the least in retrospect to all other categories so I'm not too worried about it. Math sucks!!

i think those are great scores!!! i had a low QR compared to my other scores...ran out of time...i know...very careless of me...oh well.

anyways...i got in to my state school and they never even asked me about my QR score being low 🙂 They were more impressed with my science scores, gpa and of course my dazzling personality!! Good Luck!!!
