So this isn't one of those threads where someone just comes in and posts their ridiculously high DAT scores and just boasts about. I'm a regular student just trying to get into dental school like everyone else on this website. I wasn't the best student in class... I actually frequently skipped classes and found myself bro'n out nd looking @ girls more than lecture slides. 
With that said, this test is not about smart you are... It's about HOW HARD YOU WORK and HOW MUCH YOU WANT IT.
My experience: Summer 2010
It's right after my junior year of college, you know... the time where EVERYONE else applies except for me of course. -_-. So i decided to take a Kaplan course cuz EVERYONE else took it. It cost me $1200... Was it worth it? ABSOULTELY NOT. My first teacher was sum dumb broad who could not stop talking about how she's about to get married nd her life is going to be so awesome cuz she just graduated from dental school...
.But yeah, I was one of those saps who caved. Decided not to take it that year, def wasn't ready for it and everyone else in that class was... smarter than me? 😴
Summer 2011: So i know i bashed kaplan, but wtf do i know right? I haven't taken the DAT's yet. After a year off from sciences trying to complete my major and barely graduating on time.. I decide to take my new found freedom to study for the DAT's! Cuz there's no way i'm getting a legit career job @ this economy right? So i studied... Decide to take up kaplan on it's "higher score guaranteed" motto and they gave me a free session.
But i definitely did not attend the classes.. Just the online material, which are great btw. And for someone for like me, the AVERAGE student, who basically forgot literally everything I learned in college.. Kaplan will give you a good start that you need to get going to rebuild your knowledge and giving you the BASIC knowledge you need for the test.
Real DAT test 1: So it's test day. Am i ready? I mean, after taking a few kaplan practice tests and knowing to just click random answers for all NMR and IR spectrum questions cuz it's timed and I need to spend more time on other questions, I was feeling pretty confident. Grabbed a cup of joe from dunkin's and threw back a 5 hour nd here's how I did.
DAT1:
AA/TS/PAT/BIO/CHEM/OC/QR/RC

Yeah... pretty much BOMBED it. I walked in... totally blind, was i ready? **** that! It was like jumping off a plane with no chute. Yur ****ed ! Not prepared, at all. Like i said before, Kaplan is only good for the basic fundamentals cuz the real test will kick yur ass and goes way more into depth. Regardless, still a good foundation, the tests are WAY too easy tho.
The next 3 months: After a week of depression and drowning in my sorrows wit my bro jack d. I decide to man up and take the test again. I lock myself in and put myself into solitary and by solitary I just mean I deactivated my twitter and Facebook.
One of my buddies took the test around the same time i did and got an AA of 22 
.So he refers me to this website that i think everyone should use and pretty much followed this program.

Now for the goods: I follow this program, didn't buy the MATH destroyer and CRACK PAT though. But i heard they are great, I just didn't buy them cuz my boy didn't and I didn't have no cash due to my enormous debt coming out of college. But i did buy Topscore pro and DAT achiever. Here were my scores: I suck

Achiever is crazy hard. Probably the hardest practice tests out right now. Nonetheless... U want this because this is by far way harder than the real thing, and if u can conquer this? You are gold. RC in achiever is unfair and really goes in depth with the sciences, makes you understand the reactions and mechanisms to the CORE.
TopScore Pro:

3) AA:19 PAT:20... Don't feel like turning on my pc to get the rest
. sorry, but I know that's what i got.
Topscore pro is definitely the most realistic towards the real DAT. Get this to measure yourself on how would you do on the real thing. QR on the real DAT, a little tougher though.
Doomsday Part II
Now i know i wrote this half-heartedly and threw a couple of fun lines to lighten the mood. But in reality, this test is something that I took very seriously.This is something that you NEED not want. You live, sleep, eat DAT. I studied a minimum of 5 hours a day MINIMUM. I didn't want this, I NEEDED IT. Or else i will be the disgrace of my family for being the only one to not have a ph.D degree. Yes, I am of the asian ethnicity. Here's how i did:

Come @ me bro. After taking the test and anticipating the score report screen to pop up, I pray to buddha for ATLEAST an 18AA because I always found my self running out of time in EVERY section
. Comes to show, not only did I doubt myself of getting a good score, but topscore, achiever and chads basically over prepared me for what i set my goals for.

BIO: Kaplan BB<===== Yeah right! you see how thick that book is... Didn't lift a page.
Cliff's AP bio (covers every topic you need in prep for DAT) destroyer and kaplan online materials.
Chem: Kaplan Online materials, destroyer and CHADS (all you need) praise chad
OC: Kaplan online materials, destroyer and CHADS.
RC: RC on the real dat isn't that bad. i got an 18 both times and i was only 30th percentile.
QR: I'm asian.
I wish the best for everyone applying and taking the DAT's. I understand the STRUGGLE, so i wanted to share 'my struggle' with everyone. Everyone pray for me to get in or else your not getting' in. haha jus kiddin' 😉. Best of luck to everyone!
