I just took my DAT today...i think i did horribly on the Reading comprehension, n...my PAT isn't good either...according to the following score, can anybody suggest which dental schools i can apply? p.s. my cGPA is 3.986, sGPA is 3.979.
PAT 18 (66.8%)
QR 24 (97.6%)
RC 16 :meanie: (14.8% 😱 )
Biol 20 (89.5%)
GChem 23% (93.8%)
OChem 25 (98.0%)
TS 22 (96.1%)
AA 22 (96.1%)

Here is my practice scores
Topscore
I. Bio 17 Gchem 19 Ochem19 PAT 18 QR 18 RC 20
II. Bio 19 Gchem 17 Ochem 21 PAT 18 QR 22
III Bio 17 Gchem 19 OChem21 PAT 19 QR 22 TS 19
Achiever
I. AA 19 PAT 17 QR 22 RC 19 Bio 18 GC 17 OC 18 TS 18
II AA 18 PAT 17 QR 22 RC 17 Bio 16 GC 16 OC 16 TS 16
III AA 18 PAT15 QR19 RC18 Bio15 GC 19 OC19 TS18
Kaplan CD
PAT 20 QR 25 Bio 19 GC20 Ochem 21 TS 20

I found comparing the score of the practice tests and real tests from others were really helpful, and I thank everyone for this. I hope my list will be helpful to the rest of you!
I spent all my time on Bio, but nothing i studied was on the test, and i guessed all through, didn't know i could get a 20 on it. overall, the difficulty of real DAT is similar with topscore..or a little easier..hope this information helps!

I got 16 on my RC too, and it was 20 some percentile. Now is 14.8% ?????? :scared:

ohh, congrats on ur score. 👍

If I recall correctly weren't you making a post talking about how you weren't sure if you were ready?! Hehe, great scores. You mind giving us a synopsis of each section?

congratualtions on the scores! you did so well in the qr section!! Please tell us what materials you used to study with and what your strategy was on the test 😀

hey great job 😎

Its getting kind of repeatitive of me to ask everyone but no one answered me yet.

What did you use for QR, how much did you study it and time did you put into it, and what did you use?

HAVE a GREAT summer now that you are done

I think somebody else made the post, n we had the same test day, which is today, so i told him i didn't feel i was ready, but i would never be ready even if i postpone my test.
I spent 4/5 of my time on studying bio, because it's my major weakness, but i found all the questions differ a lot from the practice tests, n i think it was hard...to be honest, i don't know how i end up with a 20...make sure you know TAXONOMY!
for Gchem and Ochem, i didn't study anything else beside finishing all those practice tests, n p.s i'm a chem major. but if you know the stuff from topscore n achiever, you should be ok
my weakness in math is probability. I spent time writing out all the probability problems from the practice tests and study them.
PAT was not much harder than topscore, at least what i think although i didn't do well. in one sentence, i study everything from the practice tests beside bio. For bio, i used schaum's, but didn't finish reading. However, I found this link to be very helpful http://www.sirinet.net/~jgjohnso/aphome.html
i found it the night before yesterday...almost die from reading them..hope these information can help you!

Hi, there! my method was to do all the topscore and achiever practice tests and notice the ones i get wrong and pay special attention to the ones i am really not good at, which in my case is probability

hey SF! see, you had nothing to worry about! great scores!

don't you think my RC is wayyyyyyyyy too low? :scared:

ahh i wish i did a little better on it....sigh

Hello, great scores! Did you by any chance find any good websites pertaining to probability? I am finding sites, but they are the basic heads/tails stuff. I need so much help on permutation/combination, etc problems!

i had some revies from high school...but i dun really those helped...so i just went through every probability questions from practices tests and tried to solve them many times

well your RC is kinda low, but at least its RC and not science or PAT! I don't think it should pull you down too too much.. you scored twenties on eveything else, so that's good!
i'm pretty impressed that you did all this just by pratice tests.. no reading kaplan blue book? or textbooks? how long did you study for?

I had the kaplan book, but didn't find it out to be useful. I was actually a premed student who withdrew the day before the Mcat. My reading was bad and Mcat is all passage-based. From Mcat in April 20ish to June, I did not study anything related to DAT. The time I started studying is early June by reading Bio ...but it was like max of 3 hours a day, and sometimes 0...the real time i fully started was a week before DAT...i was crazy over the practice exams because i saw people from this forum posting up their scores and practice exams and p.s i didn't want to waste the money that i paid for the purchase of these practice exams. I was mainly concentrating on bio...i was even studying bio at 1am the night before and in the morning i took the test.

i dunno...thats also one of the reason i made the post to receive some suggestions! do you know any website can show the requirement of each dental school?

I'm using Kaplan blue book in my study for bio....do u think its a waste of time?? 🙁 :scared:

lol of course not.. majority (90%) of people who get 20+ DATs have used the kaplan "blue" book... it's just that a lot of those people have supplemented it with schaums, although many have still gotten 20+ in bio without schaums

i'm a bit confused, When people say the kaplan "blue book" is that the book you get when you sign up for the kaplan class or is it the third edition kaplan book purchasable on amazon?

It's the book that's entitled "DAT Review Notes"... the version i have has an outer cover that is all white with blue writing, hope that helps
