here are my thoughts....ill go in order of the test
bio i used kaplan and dat destroyer. both i felt were helpful on the test. however, on my test there were a bunch of really random questions on stuff that i have never seen before.
gen chem and orgo the only thing i used was the DAT DESTROYER which was on the money! honestly that was all i used and everthing i needed was there. i went over it quite a few times and then once more the day before the test and i felt really comfortable in those sections.
pat - i was getting 21-22 on practices. i felt that the hole punching was really hard for some reason.
reading - was not what i expected at all in a million years. i was getting an even 2o on practice tests. the first passage was fine. my second passage wasnt like anything i saw in a practicetest. all the questions were like "what do you think the author... or which is something most like...." i got really flustered and it took me 25 min to get through that section with guessing most of the answers. either way my third passage was ok but i didnt have enough time.
by the time i got to math i was really upset about rc and i coudlnt get it out of my mind. also i ran out of time on math so i needed to just click answers on the last 8 or so.
also about the markers and boards. they are really annoying so be prepared for them. i asked for additional markers (5 in total) which turned out to be very helpful becuase they die quickly. also KEEEP THEM COVERED after every problem because im not lying they dry out from question to question. also its annyoying but there is nothing you can do about it- the markers write really big and the paper is small. just be prepared andd be neat. i kept getting lost in my equations.
my advice--- for math- be prepared to skip questions that you think will take a little bit oftime. there were much easier ones at the end that i didnt get a chance to look at.
also - hands down DAT DESTROYER for the sciences. no question - it is on the money.
i will be taking it again because of math and rc. i know from taking it once that all i need for the sciences is the destroyer.
goood luck to all and feel free to ask questions.

could you please tell me which of these markers most resembles the markers you used at the prometric center for the DAT exam (size-wise)?

Thanks 🙂

congrats on your scores! i will be taking mine in a few days and have a few questions...

for the math-- was it mostly word problems? and how was the trig? i have been using destoyer for the sciences, but does it do justice to this section?

biology-- what would you have done differently to prepare? i am using destroyer and i think it is pretty good for this section.

organic-- i am also using destroyer.. but was is the bulk of this section? ...mostly reactions?

gen chem-- mostly calculations or conceptual?

i am sorry for all of the questions, but thank you in advance if you reply. 😀

Nice scores...if you don't mind me asking what is your background in biology? Also, how well did you know the kaplan and destroyer biology?

yea my hole punching was hard for no reason at all too... and i felt the same way about the bio section. It was really just a random sprinkling of facts that i've learned over the past couple years.

do they give you lots of sheets or can you erase it with tissues or something? or if u use up all the space is that it?

Abbersson,

What would you have done differently to prep for the random bio Q? Where they like gen bio or more detailed upper division bio stuff?

THanks!

so all the questions that i was able to answer on the bio section i knew because they were either basic questions on information found in the kaplan or destroyer or they were more complicated questions on information that i read in the destroyer. the stuff that i didnt get were really random stuff on stuff that i never read or saw in my life. i am not a bio major - but im sure that a bio major would have seen the information that these random questions asked about.
