Ohh Ya and my degree is in molecular cell and developmental biology and I graduated UCLA, not sure if that really counts for anything.

Very good man. You got your bases covered. Apply broadly and early and you should get several interviews.

I am applying later this week so my application is very late. I graduated in march of this year and had to work to be able to save up for the dat, studying material for the dat and for the application so I couldn't apply earlier this year. I am applying mainly to schools that do not have an enrolling admissions so they can fully review my application.

Good luck then but I'd also plan to re-apply. I don't think things will work out this late in the game with your GPA.

Is your application all complete and ready to send off at this very moment? Have your letters of recommendation and transcripts been received and processed? If not, I'd save my money, kid.

If you're waiting on letters of recommendation, no one is going to be writing those for you anytime soon, with the Thanksgiving holiday around the corner. So, PASS won't be seeing them until early next month, best case scenario. Authors have plenty going on in their own lives, so waiting a month or two for them to write their recommendations isn't unexpected.

With that in mind, you're looking at your application arriving at dental schools just before the Christmas and New Year holiday break, again best case scenario, so it's not going to get eyes on it until January. I really doubt adcoms are looking for people to interview at that point. It's probably about sorting through the applicants they've already interviewed. Remember, they've likely filled a majority of their class on December 1st and since then.

This is just food for thought. Big Hoss is not the boss of you, but you'd probably wish he was.

Ya I'm going to applying again worst case scenario next cycle... I am also applying to multiple one year masters programs so I'll be busy and more competitor next time around.

My letters of rec. are all ready to go. I just have my personal statement which shouldn't take me more than a week since I don't have anything to do.

And my main school of choice is USC and they haven't accepted anyone yet

All schools have agreed to not notify students before December 1st. So, the first and largest wave of acceptances are little more than a week away.

So does that mean I don't have a chance of getting an interview 🙁

Like someone said above, it's a long shot this year. Next year is an entirely different story. I, and likely most others, would consider applying in October to be applying late. We're going to be into December now. However, if you have the money and if there are schools whose application deadlines haven't passed, I suppose you might as well apply. You'd likely be wasting your money, but you never know. This is all just one anonymous man's opinion. Take it for what you will and best of luck.

You have a chance, but you just would have had much better chances applying in June or July. I had a few interviews post December, but I applied months earlier. My friends who applied late didn't have interviews (with one exception, one had an interview in March and got accepted). Like Big said, if you have money to spend then go for it, but your chances are significantly lower applying this late.
