Hey just wanted to see what everyone thought about what I will be using to study for the DAT in April. (I'm going to start studying in december)

Crack Dat Pat

Topscore (king)

Destroyer

Kaplan

any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

i think those are great sources. i would say manage your time well to get through all of it. i bought lots of stuff, but only got through kaplan and destroyer. good luck!! 😀

Thanks for your input. I'm not going to have time to take all of march off and do nothing but study for the DAT so I hope to just study a couple hours a day and more on the weekends until I test. ANyhow thanks again.

Kaplans is not enough for biology, I would get cliffs to supplement destroyer.

Yes, we are on the same schedule. Start in Dec and taking it in the spring. I just have to get Crack DAT PAT. I hear Cliffs is good so I purchased that. Good Luck!!!

I just can't believe that I am already gearing up to start studying for the DAT. This whole process is going by so fast.

I would say Kaplan on for PA other than that don't use the DAT material from Kaplan. I studied for the DAT as if I was taking the MCAT and a few other of my friends have done the same and found that it help a lot (HIGH SCORES). Basically study for the MCAT but take DAT practice exams and questions. i think all of those materials will be enough.

Hey! I plan on taking the DAT in April as well. This will be my second time taking it. I plan to start studying in November though. I purchased the AP Cliffs Bio already. I was thinking about getting Crack DAT PAT, Topscore, and Destroyer. I was thinking about using ExamKrackers as well but I'm still not sure. Good luck to you!!!!!! 🙂 I look forward to helping each other out and knocking the DAT out of the ballpark!

Im going to take the ExamKrackers classes during summer in Emory University in Georgia, along with a few other friends of mine that are pre-med.

Kaplans online course is a waste of money and time. I would do it, your time would be better spent studying by yourself.

I agree!! But if u could get your hands on their practice subject tests then you're good. I just bought AP barrons bio!! Anyone used this for their study aid???if so how was it?

This is my first post on studentdoc. just joined. But give me the word on these DAT prep materials. When you guys say kaplan, you mean the course, or just studying the course books, or buying the kaplan prep book.....i think one comes with a CD?? Destroyer i hear is great, top score....whats the deal with that? i heard its online tests?? how about crack the DAT PAT, good?? What else...im shooting for an early summer test date. also where is the best place to buy all these, deal wise, rough estimate on prices would be great too. Thanks guys

Best deal on prep books would probably be through a friend or online at sites like amazon. You pretty much cannot get a deal on prep software like topscore or crack dat pat, so you have to buy at list price. Why should price even matter though? 😕

True, you can buy it all and its still probably cheaper than the kaplan course? anyone else with tips on my above post? Are most in agreement that the kaplan course isnt worth it?

The general consensus on SDN is that the instruction in the kaplan course is not beneficial, but that the materials it provides are. Good point that all the stuff combined is probably less than the course...

so the good materials they provide...is that mostly the books.....the online stuff cant be accessed without paying i imagine....so am i best off just getting a hold of the books from someone who took the course, getting DAT destroyer and all the others?? Tell me about the crack the DAT PAT....i was looking it up there are a ton of different packages they sell...are they worth it? which is best

I bought the Blue book. I am not gonna take the course- no time and way too much money.
