Hey guys, I went to the eye doc today and my eyes are worse than theyve ever been. My eyes have always been VERY bad, but now theyre at -20. I want to do surgery, can I still? My doc told me I cant because you have to pass an eye exam to get a residency. Anyone help please?

He's right. In order to be able to do surgery you would at least need to be able to see what a dumb ass question this is.

Sounds like your optometrist is hatin' on ya. That's f'in ridiculous. Must have been declined for med school. Tell him/her to stick with "better one or two. One.....Two....."

Besides, half of the surgeons wear loops anyways. It's not exactly difficult to add vision correction to the lenses.

1) No, you actually need three eyes to be a competitive applicant for a surgical residency now.

2) You should go into business with your doc. With your combined intellects, the two of you would be a force to be reckoned with.

3) More help? I'd bring this problem up with all the interviewers you meet along the trail for a surgical residency spot. They'll show you the compassion that you truly deserve.
