So what are they looking for? I know they are limiting out-of-staters but I got an interview at an out-of-state school that reserves 80% of the seats for in-staters, yet got the boot from Case. I've noticed quite a few ton-notch SDNers getting shot down by Case. I did turn in the secondary about eight weeks after I first recieved it. Maybe they can gauage one's interest in the school from how quickly one returns the secondary.

For those of you who got interviews or acceptances what do you think vibed with them the best from your application? I'm just curious.

i have no freakin clue. i have their stats average...and im too critical of myself to rate my own personal statement and secondary response. Im in-state.
I know another dude (in-state) who has a lower average MCAT than theirs, and has an interview. (He likes to kiss a$$ though, so figure that out 🙂 )

I'm out of state and just got an interview offer. I consider myself strong, but not spectacular. Perhaps they were impressed with my extracurriculars...most of them demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and dedication to people.

For those of you still waiting to hear from Case Western, be warned...the acceptance letter is also thin. It's only 2 sheets of paper and a postcard or 3 sheets of paper and a postcard if they invite you to apply for a scholarship. They only send out about 60 of those.

Res Alien, if you think your interview letter was weird, my acceptance letter had the wrong year written on it.

I'm from out-of-state (Illinois), so I guess I should consider myself lucky I got in. Bruin, I'm not really sure what they're looking for. I think a lot of it is just pure luck. A lot of the decision also lies in the interview, not just the numbers.

At first, I was a little worried because the person who interviewed right in front of me was in there for about 40-45 minutes, while I was only in there for about 15 minutes. I felt really good about the interview though! I guess I must have impressed him in those 15 minutes, because I got one of those scholarship invites.

Oh yeah, for those of you about to interview, it's really easy. Everybody I've talked to felt the same way. Don't worry about it.

For those who were granted interviews, how quickly did you return the secondary?

I too received an acceptance letter in a thin envelope with three sheets of paper and a postcard. Bruin4Life, I turned in their secondary exactly two weeks after I got it. Why did I get accepted?? Besides having a strong application, being a Ohio reident, and a future alumnus, I was very enthusiatic and about their program in my interview. Also, I was kind of surprised (I don't know, maybe this is common) that some on the ad com actually called some of my rec letter authors.

Gobears: about da bears. I still have a hard time discussing that Browns game. It was a painful experience for me. 😡 But...I don't hate da bears, but I do think they've used up too much of their luck and mojo already to go very far in the playoffs.
