My grades are average - does this mean I'm getting a ~220!?

Hey all,

I keep hearing about this strong correlate between MCAT and School grades with Board scores. And i'm hoping its not true. I didn't have much discipline for MCAT and my school grades are with the class average. Unfortunately, our school step 1 average is like a 217-219. I feel I'm working harder than my mates for the test, I go in June and am already 50% done with a q-bank and will be, and finish, another.

I'm just paranoid as I want a very comp. specialty and I will do anything for a 240+. How true are these stupid associations between school grades and boards? Granted we get tested on things like histo, social issues, etc and I usually tank those topics.

The strongest correlation you're going to find is hard work ~ board scores.

There are plenty of people here that have done well on their steps without being phenoms. Just stay focused and continue working hard. If you're doing well on your qbanks and what not, then you know something is working, and for the better.
