Not sure what to say to this? What are some good things to focus in a letter for eras? What do PDs look for?

I think he's wanting to make sure his LOR matches your application--i.e. the stuff he says are important to you are also reflected in your application. So I would suggest you ask him to emphasize the things that you emphasized.

Your application should tell a story. Tell him to focus on aspects you want highlighted. Emphasize any personal examples.

Agreed. OP, you can provide a brief draft to give the LOR an idea. What they chose to do with you draft is up to their discretion.
