I applied to 7 DO programs and Sackler in Israel. Below are my stats and a few of my EC's....what do you guys think? I know......the only thing i could do now is wait.....and if i didn't apply I would never know.....but lets be honest....what's your gut feeling. The DO schools I applied to were TOURO-NV, NYCOM, COMP, PCOM, LECOM-E, LECOM-B, and NOVA.

Science GPA: B1 -A, B2- A, C1- B, C2- A, P1 - A, P2- A, O1 - C, O2 - B

Undergrad GPA: 3.40

MCAT: 22O (BS-6, PS -7, VR -9)

Bioethics research - honors thesis regarding the bio ethical dilemmas facing orthodox Jews, Muslims, and Catholics considering assisted reproduction and the precaution reproductive endocrinologist must take.

Shadowed neonatologist, osteopathic orthopedic surgeon, and palliative care specialist.

and some other stuff, like volunteering for medical nonprofits, teaching students with special needs, teaching for the State Department, etc.

So...what do you think?

You have a chance to get in somewhere, but there are some other schools that would have been easier to get into than those you applied to.

Hm, I wonder if all the Jewish experience stuff could help you out at the Touros....maybe you should try Touro-CA too... They SAY Jewish affilation doesn't matter, but I can't see that it would hurt you.

yeah...looks like the MCAT needs retaken. the lower scores in BS and PS are def not going to help you.

There's no way to know. You might get 2 or 3 interview invites with a couple acceptances, or they all might just take your sec. app. money and quickly reject you. A lot of it prob. depends on when you completed your apps. and how you did in the other science classes like genetics, micro., cell bio., physiology, bio chemistry. Maybe you only took the basic sciences, I don't know. Consider applying to a few other schools before it is too late. Have you applied before. You have what seems to me to be impressive EC's and I think that will take you as far as a couple of extra points on the MCAT. However, if you don't hear back from anyone by like the beginning of next year start studying for the April test. Either way, good luck.

As Iwillbesoon pointed out, you're going to have a definite edge at Touro, I'd apply to both Touros. Your GPA is within range but the problem with your MCAT score is that you did really bad in the BS section (the most important section for DO schools). Otherwise, your application is very strong, your experience puts you a cut above many applicants. I'm sure you'll get interviews, so if you nail those it will be the determining factor. I have no clue what the requirements are for the med school in Israel, so can't offer any advice.
