Ok I have evaluated your pharmCAS grade. You have too many C, D, F grades in science courses. Are you planning to retake those courses? Have you taken the PCAT yet? Do you have any pharmacy experience or ECs.
My recommendation: retake the science courses, try your best on the PCAT (90+), get pharmacy experience, write a good personal statement. Without those, I don't think the admissions committee will offer you an interview.
Good luck!

thanks for the input and I understand you're input. But I made a D in inorganic chemistry and Physical chemistry. I dont even think pharmacy schools look at those classes. but ur right, better hop on it

Why do you think that? I'm just curious.
Ok bad wording lol what i meant was Physical chemistry and inorganic chemistry are not traditional prereQ science classes at pharmacy schoolsWhy do you think that? I'm just curious.
Ji, after looking at your Pharmcas grades report, I think you should think about doing a master program to bring up grades/ to give pharm schools a diff. impression of you. Like the above poster said, you currently have too many C, D, and Fs. Try to get B and up for the majority of your classes next year so at least you can show an upward trend in grades.
Not going to happen. You need to retake some courses and bring your GPA up. You don't have NEARLY enough experience or enough of a positive grade trend to "balance" out your application. I don't recommend applying this year.
You could try applying to a new school but I doubt even they would take you right now. If they did... I dunno.
I don't want to be gloom and doom but, seriously, your grades don't demonstrate your commitment to pursuing graduate/professional school.

I guess you're right
I was hoping the adcoms kinda looked my pre req grades a little more. But i guess my other science grades really bring my GPA down.
my freshmen year really killed me.😳
PS. thanks for all the help and honest responses! it was much appreciated. 😀
Just to echo what everyone else is saying, retake the courses you got Cs,Ds and Fs in (if they are part of the pre-reqs definitely do that). You didn't just do ****ty in your freshman year, you had Fs in practically every semester, so the progression that you were talking about may not even cut it. Granted you do have quite a few As but the failing grades more than obscure them. So, maybe this app cycle is out of the question.
He only has 7 A's and they aren't in anything that important except for the Physics and Calculus.
Take that back- A&P has A's too...
STILL... only 7 As?

lol yeah epic FAIL
I would retake all my bad classes If i could in a heartbeat, but i have one more year left and like 30 credits left to finish undergrad. then my loans wont kick in and my parents arn't paying a cent lol. the best i can do now is probably retake genetics and Gen chem.
WTF i made an F in genetics on a retake lol. my bad.
i see ur point. but since i got money to waste im gonna apply this cycle anyways. worst case scenario i raise my GPA up with the rest of my undergrad years and apply 2012, which will get me more time for experience anywaysJust to echo what everyone else is saying, retake the courses you got Cs,Ds and Fs in (if they are part of the pre-reqs definitely do that). Yeah. Like I said, the falling grades definitely overshadow the 7 As. I noticed the Ds and Fs before I even noticed the As. If he retakes most of those classes in addition to others, I think he may have a shot. What do you think?

I am definitely one of the optimistic types so do your thing and good luck.👍

thanks. ill have to really sell myself. i DO have this fall seemster left though. but honestly, do u think i can really make a difference in one semester?? I am taking micro this fall, I guess since my schools require micro, i wont even be able to submit my app until my grades come out for micro

Ur right, I would do anything to increase my chances. but... There aint NO WAY im retaking PCHEM ever again!!!

Honestly no, but keep at it.
sorry guys. I realized that most of my posts on sdn are all bout trying to find an easy way out and complaining. pretty messed up. I'll follow your advice and take as many classes as I can.
Ive been reading a lot of passion4sci's tips on finding actual jobs and will try em out.
thanks for the help

This will have to be a very long term goal.

It's not just about taking the classes. It's more important that you pass them with nothing less than Bs.

more like A's. they average all your classes together with repeats (I know you knew that already). I wish they wouldn't do that **** hahaha jk😀

Not all schools do that.
Yeah I did a lot of research on that.
Here is someone's calculated GPAs (on cas) i found on his blog.
I realized they take averages of A LOT of different GPAs.
You DON'T have to do this, Im realizing Im asking A lot, but do you think this GPA would be somewhat representative of my coursework?? although he DID nail bio and I have Ds in that area🙁

we had to interview demented degenerates and write huge papers on them. i was a freshmen and I got drunk all the time. so yeah
Why call who I am going to assume are patients, "demented degenerates"? Maybe pharmacy isn't your thing. You're going to be interacting with those "demented degenerates" all the time as a pharmacist.
What makes you think you can handle pharmacy school? I mean, really...why are you even going into it?

I was gonna peg you as a foreign student who didn't fully grasp the English language and might have had a barrier, but now I think of a... "demented degenerate" when you said you got drunk your freshman year. Sounds totally stupid. Looks like you haven't improved yourself since.
You don't sound like you care enough about the career path. I think you heard "6-figs" and you jumped the bandwagon.
Look elsewhere for a career. Like business. No, business might be too good for you. I'd look in construc... truck driv... McDona... no, no, waste management. I can't find a good reason for you to screw up in that career other than possibly driving the truck (you might be drunk, idk.)

Hi there. I just want to say 2 things:
1. The goal you are attempting will be very difficult. I wish you posted the cumulative GPA as determined by Pharmcas but I can tell that it will definitely be less than 3.0 due to all those F's. I strongly recommend you look to other fields; there are many options in health care if you feel it's your thing. And quite honestly, if you do manage to succeed... congrats! However, I will be quite wary of the school that accepted you because your competitiveness as an applicant is very very weak.
2. I see you posted your facebook in your sig. DON'T! I just took a look at your pictures (which you set on public...) and there's quite a lot of you drinking & its aftereffects. Drinking, of course, isn't illegal but you are painting yourself as a party animal (the picture of you on the floor, covered in vomit is definitely not a pretty sight). These forums are quite popular and I wouldn't be surprised if ad-coms come surfing here every now and then... you definitely don't want them to recognize you!
edit:
Third thing.
I see a lot in your pics that you are in the pre-pharmacy club. You seem to have a lot of fun with your friends which is great but because they are your friends, your goal may be skewed. What I mean is, perhaps your desire to pursue pharmacy is only motivated by your friends wanting to do pharmacy. It's sort of like the pre-med bandwagon. Every freshmen with a science major wants to go to med school. However, after being weeded out by gen eds (particularly orgo), they realize that medical school isn't for them.

If you insist on having FB, set that stuff to super private mode...
yeah no more facebook and no more stupid posts by me. I realized i might have misworded them in a offensive way. we had to observe and communicate with people from the Richmond Mental hospital and a junior in my classs at that time had an appointment one week where she talked to some girl who had problems with self abuse. Back then we thought they were pretty crazy i thought"there ain t no ****ing way im taking this class" and plus i didnt really try.If you insist on having FB, set that stuff to super private mode...
Im deadset on pharmacy and i still want to murder myself for getting Cs in public speaking and religion. omfgomfgomfg😱

You shouldn't judge people like that. That's an awful thing to say.

I just want to commend you for having the balls to actually post your grades on the studentdoc network. If you browse these forums as much as I do, You know that this crowd can be brutally honest.
I also want to commend you on retaking that evolution class four times!!! If I got an F twice in a row, I would just say "Screw it. Maybe Bio isnt my thing". You, on the other hand, don't give a rats behind about failing and having to retake over and over again. Hmmm, now that i think about it, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing🙄

LOL - it was studying with the pre-meds that made my decision against pursuing med school. I was taking pre-med sciences not sure if I wanted to pursue med school (this is way back during undergrad years ago) or major in Bio and do something else or what, and a guy I knew was in my Orgo lecture with me and invited me to go study with him and his pre-med buddies. Meeting them and learning how driven they were about getting into med school was what made me realize that was not the route I wanted.
I totally get what you are saying though about the bandwagon.

Ahah thanks. I'll do whatever needs to be done for advice, even harsh brutal honest advice, which i greatly appreciate. I dont even mind the truck driving comments hahaha, after all, its reality right?
I wont stop retaking genetics until i get an A in there, thats just how roll, I know the average of my grades wont be high, but this is all i have to work with and honestly i dont h ave the money to retake everything. so im just gonna nail this fall semester, study hard for the PCATs, volunteer like mad, and hope for the best.👍
yeah unfortunately its much much easier for acepted pharmacy school students to judge others, hahah oh well, haters ain't gonna dent me!! 😀You shouldn't judge people like that. That's an awful thing to say.

If you don't mind me asking, could you post your coursework again? I'd like to evaluate it myself rather than relying on other's comments.
No it's not. This is the Internet. I don't know where you been, but this is a free Internet. We can say whatever we want. OP brought it upon himself to get chewed out by anyone. Not my fault, not my problem. You shouldn't judge people like that. That's an awful thing to say.

True, you can say whatever you want. It's the internet. I was saying that it was very judgmental of you.
Plus, I just hate people who looks down on others.

I don't think he was looking down on him. Like someone said, we tend to be brutally honest at times. I am sure the OP knew that since he's been browsing the forums for some time.
Some people need a reality check. Nothing wrong with pointing things out. If people were saying to him, "You're such an idiot and a loser for having ****ty grades!" or as someone else once stated, "You're a pathetic human being and a piece of ****!" then that would be "looking down on someone". Being honest with this type of thing is good because you're actually helping someone out instead of saying that everything is rainbows and butterflies. The latter is a disservice, IMO.

He might as well have said those things when he stated to OP that he should give up pharmacy as a career and be a truck driver. He also mentioned that the OP should work at McD or be a business guy, but then he said that those we "tood good" for him. Because of these comments, I thought he went out of line.
Also, he was being judgmental as well, that's not being "honest". Being honest is to tell the person what their grades will do for them and how they will hurt them. BUT saying things like "I think when you heard '6-figs' you jumped on the bandwagon" is totally judgmental. People are in different situations. People make mistakes. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to get on the right path. So to say what you said there was totally judgmental and that's why I thought you went out of line. It's internet and it's freedom of speech sure you can say it it's your choice, but that doesn't excuse you from being an a------.
Anyways, I hate these types of people who thinks they are better than someone else (by putting others down with those comments), I just hope they learn themselves someday.

Judgmental and 100% accurate.
ALright!!! lol im not trying to start a civil war here. lol everyone has a point. to be honest let me put it this way. Id rather have brutal honest remarks than butterfly in the sky ones. But Azn have a point. misjudging is pretty bad and to be honest as well, I really DIDN't Jump on the band wagon as well..well maybe i did a little lol. my grandpa was a pharmacist in mainland china, so are two of my aunts and my mother. since im asian pretty much it means if i dont get into pharmacy school they will either disown me or maybe stick bamboo down my fingernails.
so im just tryin to beef up other parts of my application to balance everything out. I HAVN't taken the Pcats yet so im sure that could help me out. i have 200+ volunteering at a free clinic, 2 solid LORs(so far), president of chem club, member of pre pharm, and treasurer of the environmental club and worked at a lab at VT).
lets be honest here, Im just doing what i can right now. I DONT MIND HEAVY CRITICISM but please lol enough with the burger truck driving jokes and for those who think my chances are slim, well, more power to you. Azn lol that course work took me a while to make and post im too lazy right now. they really are THAT bad lol.
ill wait for my judgement day once my pharmcas GPA comes in. im guessin approx a 2.7ish GPA. 🙁
