Took the dat today, and I have mixed feelings about my scores.

PA: 17: 47.4% 🙁
QR: 15: 39%
🙁

Reading: 20: 72.4, I got pianoed, so I guess I did ok.

Biology: 20: This TRULY is a section that is hard to study for, nonetheless, studying and getting a good understanding of things will help, but you don't have to know the minute details.

General Chemistry: 19
: Unexpected amount and types of calculations, it was a potentially easy section, but it was some ugly stuff.

Organic Chemistry: 21 Way simpler than the destroyer

TS: 20
AA:19

My biggest disappointment is my PAT score, since the lowest I got on PAT was a 19 on CDP.

Then there is the freaking QR, I don't know what the heck to do about that freaking section.

So, I am wondering are these scores going to cut it for Pitt?

Thanks, give me your opinions.
.
BTW, I have a 3.9 GPA.(Overall and Science)

I know with a retake I could do better, I guess I wouldn't have to study nearly as much either.

Materials:

Destroyer: Worth doing, but off target in many portions.
Don't kill your self learning the most complicated reactions. The road maps helped for sure.
The biology is probably pretty good.

Topscore: The chemistry is probably closer than I expected it to be, hence the 19.
Reading was quite similar, although nothing was quite as hard as piano.
Quite accurate for the OCHEM

Kaplan BB: I think this was probably more than enough for the chemistry, but getting destroyer for practice might be a good idea.

I don't really think you need a re-take, especially with that great GPA of yours. Even if you do re-take, it wouldn't be until late November, and I don't know how great your chances would be by then. If you don't hear of any invites or anything in the next 2 months, then I would probably schedule to take it again.

I am applying next year, not this year.

Then you should retake it and try to get higher Score unless if you have good Volunteer records or shadowing work and Recommendation letters.

In that case, go ahead and re-take it. You can study again and probably learn from any mistakes you made during your studying time or while you took the DAT and score higher on the re-take.

I'd retake, if only because the 15 is going to be below cut-off for a number of schools. A pity, because your scores and GPA are otherwise very competitive.

great grades. depending on which schools you are shooting for, i'd say shoot for the stars- retake it and it'll open a lot of more windows for you. but the scores you have now are still just fine. that's my advice. 👍

You think you can do better and you're not applying until next year, so time is not a constraint. I think you've answered your own question. GL!

i took mine today too and had VERY similar scores. i think we should get into at least a couple schools. good job
