wat do u think my chances are of getting ONE interview if i submit in june, get my Lors out in Aprill(can u even do that, or do u have to wait for the application to be available to send LOrs?) and if i apply to all of the following schools:

VCU
BU
COlumbia
harvard
ucsf
ucla
uop
usc
loma linda
meharry
howard
ASDOH
New Jersy
Detroit Mercy

Baylor

Unless your african American dont apply to Howard. Harvard = no shot DAT and GPA not high enough. UoP no shot PAT isnt high enough. UCLA you might do good since you are a CA resident same with some of the other CA state schools. Baylor no shot since you arent a TX resident. The rest Id say you have a fair shot at. You arent really competitive by any means and probably wouldnt get in until after Dec 1.

i would say forget harvard and columbia, and UoP may be a stretch.... and submit may 15th or whatever the first date is.. and even more importantly.. make sure your transcripts go out as soon as possible after the last semester or have it arrive at aadsas simultaneous with your submission

If you're not a URM then meharry may be a bit of a stretch as well.. i say add more schools.. UNLV maybe.. any stat schools that accept a large percentage of out of staters..

Be ahead of the game, and apply to say 18-20 schools and maybe you'll get a couple interviews..

your EC is good. Just make sure you retake the DAT and try to bump it up to like 20-22 on most sections. An 18 is not very favorable this days, since most people are getting 20+. Good luck in your endavour.

I'd also suggest trying to take some more BCP classes in the mean time to bump up your science GPA. Good Luck!!

hmm...what do you guys think pupsingh's chances would be with a 20+ DAT? I just find it interesting that the general consensus is that pup is going to have trouble getting interviews when we see people here on SDN with, well...atleast similiar GPA, getting plenty of interviews from some good schools.

So, you guys think that they place that much emphasis on DAT's? Even more than GPA?

Seems as if everyone's opinion about this tends to differ...

Pupsingh isn't applying until next cycle, and has time for improvement so why not encourage? If the opportunity is present, one should try to push it to the next level.

my mistake, i didn't realize pup was applying next cycle. either way though...pup's gpa is somewhat competitive for many schools, don't you think? I'm sure if he/she bumped up the DAT to 20+, he/she'd have no problem getting a fair amount of interviews

I have the same overall gpa as yours but higher DAT scores, higher sci GPA and more volunteering hours and other stuff and still have no interviews either 👎 I submitted mine at the end of June. I say retake the DATs and get your overall gpa to at least a 3.4 and your sci gpa to 3.3.

Also apply May 15 if possible!! If you are able to apply on May 15th, add Case Western. There seems to be a trend for ppl with even lower stats getting interviews there who applied in May. Take out Harvard, Howard, Baylor, UOP unless you retake the DATs and score 21s+ GL!

I have similar gpa(3.51 gpa, 3.01 Sci), higher Dat (21/21/19), similar EC's (less shadowing, more community service), my AADSAS went out in the first mailing, I applied to 16 schools and I only have one interview.
