Hey everyone--I am applying to both Midwestern campuses, D'Youville College, and both Brenau University campuses. Here are my stats:

Cumulative GPA: 3.235

Prerequsite GPA (Anatomy, Physiology, Stats, Human Development, Sociology, Abnormal Psych): 3.375 --This is without abnormal psych--taking it right now.

60 volunteer hours: 40 inpatient, 10 hand, 10 pediatric

No GRE score

I have my Bachelors of Science from Michigan State. Major: Kinesiology

I have 500 hours of research experience with the nursing research center on MSU's campus

I am also a male. I have heard that this probably will not help me at all.

What does everyone think? Do I have a chance?!?! I turned all of my applications in through OTCAS at the end of August.

I think you have an excellent chance. You had a pretty difficult major and you still have good stats. I wouldn't be too worried. I can't speak specifically to the other schools, but I know a few people who got into D'Youville last year with similar stats, easier majors, and no volunteer hours. Plus they didn't apply until march. Good luck 🙂

I am a student at SMU in Oakland and had a lower GPA than you and got in. You are more than qualified just impress them on the interview

I think you have a good chance. I also think that being a male helps you because many programs are trying to level the playing field by having as many males as females as possible. Good luck.

I was just accepted into D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY!!!!!!

I think those are some great stats Steiney8. Where are you applying? I think the # of volunteer hours you have will be helpful.

Wow, lots of schools you are applying to! With transcripts and fees that must have cost a lot...not to mention traveling to interview! Wow, indeed.

Its not about the money I just wanted to see if my stats are competitive. Do u think I will get into one of those 15 schools ?

Well, you could put money on it...and you are! The odds are in your favor.

Steiney8, apply to your first choices first, then apply to more if you do not get accepted. Your chances are better than you think, especially since you seem a little unique. You were a criminal justice major, don't think that won't help you! OT and criminal justice have something in common: mental health. Get a great personal statement!

steiney8, what were your GRE scores?

I'm assuming you are from the east coast since we applied to the same schools. Your stats look great! Especially your hours and pre-req GPA. Most schools require a GPA higher than 3.0 and you're good there too.
