Hello,
I am an IMG who prepared for step 1 for more than 6 months.
I got through FA with Goljan, Kaplan and BRS physio then UWorld (95% of it but corrected around 75%) mostly system based with some random blocks and a total score of 81%. I re-read FA in the last 3 weeks.
Took NBME 11 3 weeks before my exam: 251
NBME 16 10 days before my exam: 241 (was at 65% of my revision, did a lot of stupid mistakes so I surely improved from there till the exam).
UWSA1: 265+ (87.5%)
UWSA2: 265+ (84.7%)
Felt they were easier than UWorld.
Took the exam on the 24th of march. It's long. It's difficult. It's like taking 7 blocks of UWorld back to back with 2 average to easy blocks and 5 difficult ones AND A LOT OF WTF QUESTIONS.
The most daunting thing about it is the fact that you can mark up to 15 questions per block which is scary. (I mark every single question I have 1% doubt about) I marked 20 questions in 2 blocks.
There was a lot of wtf anatomy (ENT, pelvic and musculoskeletal). FA is NOT ENOUGH alone. Behavioral is very present with at least 3-4 questions per block. Microbiology tackles all the weird and rare germs (anaplasma, neurocysticercosis, leishmania, sarcoptes, wtf). Biochem is easy. Path and pharm are easy in general although there were some really obscure path questions.
Overall I counted around 30 mistakes so far without counting behavioral so I expect around 50-60 in the end in total including experimental questions.
I made some stupid mistakes (around 5) and took some wrong guesses in 50-50 questions. I have a good feeling about it though, similar to my NBMEs and assessments. I had 20-25minutes left in EVERY BLOCK which is still puzzling me!!!! I had all the time I needed to review marked questions and sometimes the whole block.
Do you think I'm safe for a 245-250?
