A little background - I'm a current fourth year, part of the Charter Class of a brand new allopathic medical school. I got an average score on Step 1 and wanted to rock Step 2 in order to have a chance at top-tier anesthesiology residency programs. This being said, I did relatively well on my shelf exams during third year, so I didn't need much time to study for Step 2 CK. I improved on Step 2 CK pretty substantially, so overall I was happy with what I did.

I've included my study plan and some tips in this blog entry: http://blog.amandaxi.com/2015/04/08/usmle-step-2-ck-includes-a-study-plan-tips-for-success/

And if you're curious, here's where I matched: http://blog.amandaxi.com/2015/03/23/ouwb-match-2015-results/

I'll be following this thread, so feel free to ask questions and good luck to everyone preparing for the exam [and the upcoming application cycle]!

My Step 1 was about average (so let's say ~230s range).

If you're currently in a clinical setting, then I would say that Step 2 will probably be an easier exam for you than Step 1. Just remember to study the "book answer" to the question of "what do you do next?" because what we do in practice does not always align with what the question is looking for you to do.

Good luck!

Amanda, the Google Document link on your blog isn't working. Also, congratulations on your match!

Hey everyone! I found study guides like Amanda’s useful in raising my (score 45 points!) from Step 1 I wanted to share an updated Step 2 CK study guide with the newer resources such as OnlineMedEd and study schedules for CK

My main resources were UWorld+OME+Uptodate and reading the Step Up series before my prep. The game changer was concentrating more on UWorld explanations. I did this making Anki cards more efficiently by dictating my UWorld incorrects into Anki to make cards using cloze. Dictating onto my cards allowed me to have more time to review all the cards I had raised which definitely helped raised my score. I also wanted to share the review settings on Anki I used during my questions.

If anyone has any questions about Anki or how I studied for CK, feel free to PM me!
