Hi all.
I have been reading the forums forever and never really commenting.
I thought I'd give my 2 cents in now that I am officially done with all the steps.
I NEVER did USMLE world. Kaplan qbank was very good for step 3.
I read first aid and crush.
Did all the Kaplan questions.
For CCS, I would do usmle world now that it is interactive. Very good practice. However, you have to put up with the new program as it stalls or reverses. But overall great practice.
My CCS cases:
The one's I can remember:
Aortic disection---guy came in with GI complaints
Normal child (16 ish y/o boy) for regular check up: was htn--advised diet
and exercise
Baby with small bowel obstruction...ordered surgery (you have to order the surgery, not just the surg consult)
Diabetic management (glucose in 300s, admitted him, started him on insulin c fluids. Discharge with F/U)
30 y/o male with chest pain..admitted him for ROMI, was an anxiety attack. SSRI with Xanax at DC.
I will keep thinking of the rest.
