"My Turn" Article From Newsweek

Nice article. There seems to be a lot of DOs in the military.

Yea, I think there are. I believe PCOM is the largest supplier of physicians in the military outside of the military's own medical school (someone can correct me if I am wrong).

At KCOM orientation we were told that KCOM has the largest class of students entering the military out of all medical schools (md, DO)??? But, it could be just propoganda?

Well, Wiki says its PCOM, but it's not sourced, so it could be false and you may be right.

About.com says the same thing.

This news article says it 'may' be, though maybe they got that from wikipedia. 😛

Yes, DOs comprise a larger proportion of the military physician community than civilian (last estimate I saw quoted was 10% vs. 6%). I'm not sure which school supplies the greatest number of military DOs, but many schools seem to make the list (I heard DMU in the past). Differing class sizes probably make it a moot point anyhow. At UNECOM (where I went) there was a dry spell in HPSP recipients, but since my class there seems to have been a decent number each year.
