Well after my Finals I received an overall % of an 89.6 in Physics II and 89% in Organic II. My college doesnt give + or - with your grade... THIS IS HORRIBLE, my GPA will suffer because of tiny amounts of points.... Do you guys have any suggestions? My grades are not entered in yet, they are due in by 5 tomorrow, so they might give me the benefit of .4% and 1 %. But if they dont I will be sick...

I wish my ultimate fear was yours. Calm down. You'll be okay. The world is still spinning and the sun will rise tomorrow. If you do get B's its no big deal.

GO TALK TO YOUR PROFESSORS!

Some of them are a-holes, but there are actually a lot of them, that if you go and explain the situation will give you the benefit of the doubt. I would bet that if you go and talk to your professor about the 89.6% the A is yours.

I second that! Go talk to your profs!! The 89.6% prof especially... I mean really, what's a lil rounding up???

And throw up a prayer too.. it can't hurt.

Yeah Ive been praying no doubt.... Ill go talk to him tomorrow, Im sure he's gone for the day.... Seriously though, if I was the teach behind this, I would always round up students.

If you're hyperventilating over this, how will you cope with the MCAT, or the board exams?

Relax. It's going to be fine. For most on SDN, their ultimate fear is NEVER getting in to medical school(their worst academic fear, at the least).

For most, their worst fear is never getting to do what they wanted to do in life and dying knowing that they've lived an unfulfilled life. You're a premedical student, pursuing one of the most highly sought-after degrees in the world. A couple of Bs aren't going to derail you.

Go ahead and talk to the professor tomorrow. Even if you don't get the A, realize that there are plenty of people who got into med school with B grades.

As another poster indicated, life goes on. Don't let the grades define who you are. There are people who have gotten C grades in some classes and still got in.

More than likely, the situation will resolve itself and as someone else posted, it's the end result (getting into med school), not the grade that is most important.

honey, if that's your ultimate fear -- a few B's -- i sure hope you live a very insulated life from now until you die quietly in your sleep at a ripe old age.

CHILL! i got in with 2 D's a bunch of C's and one F. grades are not the end all be all.

my ultimate fear? murderous serial killer clowns chasing me with knives. yes, you heard me. murderous serial killer clowns chasing me with knives. just think how awful it was to realize, after moving in, that my current flat is next to a circus college!

I almost used the exact same picture for a post over on the pre-allo board.

Everyone likes to preach. I am sorry to quote you MJ but since you are the first one I read I will. The kid is in a situation where he/she may get two B's in two important pre-reqs. If I was this close, I would be pissed if I got a B.

I was also one of "those" who would get annoyed if I got a B. In retrospect, it didn't matter, but I was still able to handle to MCAT and be accepted to 5 schools.

Thank YOU! I do realize guys that B's are ok... Im sure there are plenty of Pre meds who would die for a B in organicII and or physics II. But like USarmyDoc said, I am soooo close its hard not to want it bad

You'll find that once you are in medical school, you'll forget what your grades were in college, and it won't matter anyway.

What one sweet day that will be.... well since im done and have no contol of the current dilemma, Im going to go enjoy $1 beers.... at the local pub 😎

Yeah I can only hope to do that well in those two classes. I am getting one A, three B's, and one C. Not the end of the world, but certainly not a gpa booster. Right now my science gpa is 3.0 exactly (if I do not figure in math, but I do not think I do for DO schools).

Don't worry too much, good luck, and I hope you get your A, you deserve it!

You need to chill the **** out. I rocked a myriad of Fs, Ds, and Cs and got into both schools I applied to.

I have to admit that if I got an 89.6 and got a B, I'd be pretty hacked off...both at myself for not getting that one extra point...and at the prof. that didn't round up.

I'm worried how my flaming F-bomb in Chem II during undergrad will hurt me. No matter I re-took and got an A.

Well he emailed me back this morning and said, " I havent looked at overall scores yet But if your that close I'll round up"... PHEW
