So, here was my harrowing experience today. Amalgam went okay,prep was wide on the axial wall and i failed to ask for the modifcation but no pink slips and resoration looked pretty good.
Composite another story. Decay was huge and not anticpated. My axial wall was getting deep and I still had caries. Called for a modification to deepen axial wall. Floor Examiner gray carded me. The damn graders in the back didnt approve it. I then went back to the FE and said that there was still decay and what should I do? He pulled me aside and told me my problem was that I was already over extended when I called him over and that now hes worried Im going to expose. I asked for another modifcation and he approved it but suggested that if it were him he would do an indirect pulp cap. So I did and noted to the grader that im leaving decay, and the graders then pink slipped me for leaving decay.
I was so upset. I was ready to pack it up since that would mean all points for prep were lost. I go to the FE and show it to him. He goes to confer with the head FE and then the head goes to the backto speak with graders Hes gone for like 30 minutes (felt like 20 hours). He comes back and says that the pink slip has been voided and for me to remove decay and then call him over and then fill it. I felt like I had been brought back from the dead. I was also confused becasue I had asked to deepen axial wall and was denied and then they pink slipped me to remove decay from the axial wall. Made no sense, but I wasnt about to argue since they took my pink slip away. They probably dinged me huge for not asking to modify my prep, but my restoration looked good, so im hoping i got by. I am so nervous since I lost 3 for my perio yesterday, 3 for modifcation not approved, and who knows how many for not asking to deepen both my axial walls. Pray for me
