The question I will have is how important your native American identity was as you were growing up and as your professional identity. I don't know if your mother's tribe is affiliated with the Southwest or perhaps New England where you are located. I just ask because of NHSC possibilities and FQHC's. HPSP possible if you want military medicine.
That's understandable. I just note there are some programs that do have a focus on indigenous community health. I don't know if NHSC gives you a path to work for IHS. Some of the schools that really are immersed in Native American health and culture:
Without a supportive pathway program, I wouldn’t be entering medicine. If we’re going to train the Native American physicians we need, we must build many more.
The University of Minnesota Medical School in Duluth received a $750,000 injection to launch a new program dedicated to recruiting and supporting Native American medical students in the Upper Midwest.

If you are truly curious about reconnecting with this history, it's worth investigating.
You can also see if any of the schools have support systems for children of military parents.
