Has anyone here recommended N-acetyl-cysteine to a patient, for any reason?

Small trials in half a dozen different areas with varying results--It seems to be a drug in search of an indication, so to speak. Any luck with it for anything?

No, and unless the data becomes a lot more impressive and clear I don't envision I will be recommending it in the future.

Drugs 'in search of an indication' are generally not drugs I recommend 🙂

I haven't used it, but Kevin Gray's NAC papers for adolescent marijuana use are pretty impressive given there's no other game in town.

Most recent one was in AJP: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22706327

Total man crush on Kevin Gray. Basically he's what would happen if Ben Folds became a child addiction psychiatrist. 😍
