Why is it that you can't name this compound as 2-methyl 3 nitro cyclohexene?

The answer is 1-methyl 6 nitro cyclohexene. Isn't the above one better since the numbers are minimized?

There is a methyl group on that side of the ene making it more important than the other side with only a hydrogen. So you have to start naming from there. You have to memorize group priorities.
