Hi there,
I have been studying from PNN for a while now. I have some questions in regards to PNN, is that book is enough as a single study source for NAPLEX?. In regards to calculations and statistics part of NAPLEX, is it straight forward questions?, what about the compounding section, I have read somewhere that compounding is a major part of the exam, but everyone stated that PNN or RXPREP were not enough for the compounding part. Do you guys know of any source of study for that part?
The amount of information is overwhelming. What would be the best way to answer and time questions during the exam?, How to deal with all of the above questions?
I studied from PNN and when I do the RXPREP quiz bank, I find that RXPREP has way more information, it makes me so nervous. :scared:
Please advice. Thanks for reading, I will really appreciate your input. God bless!! :biglove:

There is no way to cram just practice everything you do not know very well until you know it especially brand names (for all main drugs for all diseases)

Hi there, I hope this quick post helps some people out.
I used rxprep twice and failed both times. I am a graduate from the United Kingdom and have been out of school for over 5 years. The issue I was having with rxprep is that it contains too much information, most of which is unnecessary and I wasn't able to retain everything or decide what to focus on so I kept reading the book cover to cover and answering questions.
For my 3rd attempt I gave up on rxprep and bought passnaplexnow. It's the only resource I used apart from for calculations, I found rxpreps calculations layout easier to follow.

I spent a month studying 4-5 hours a day some days more some days less. I first watched all the online videos and made notes in the corresponding book as I went along. I then read through the book once and my own notes. I did also make flash cards which I reviewed a few days before the exam for major points or reference values etc. I found passnaplexnow to cover everything I needed and the lecturers make it easy to remember key points via nmenonics etc.
If I had used passnaplexnow the 1st time I know I would have passed. When I walked out of my exam the 3rd time using passnaplex I knew I had passed instantly. After listening to the videos all the case studies made so much more sense and I knew exactly what to look for.
So if passnaplexnow is your only resource I think you'll be just fine! I know it's expensive but for me it was so worth it. It's such a huge weight off my shoulders to finally be done. Good luck!

Just want to emphasize the importance of pharmacy calculations. Can you calculate an aliquot in less than 60 seconds? Can you do an alligation alternate or medial in less than 60 seconds? Can you calculate drip rates in less than 60 seconds? Can you convert between mg and mEq in less than 30 seconds? Set goals. Time yourself. Math is king on NAPLEX. Obviously, you need to know other stuff too, but if it's been several weeks since you practiced the more complicated types of math problems, then it will probably send you into a panic if one pops up on the exam. Much better to be prepared for these and knock them out quick as easy points.

Just curious, do you still have your access to PassNaplexNow...Unfortunately RxPrep has taken most of the funds i have. I would appreciate a discounted sale if possible...
