Some words of wisdom from my boyfriend, "If you are spending too much time on a question, you are obviously over thinking. Just pick the first answer that you think is right and move on. Don't look back at it...EVER."
It's true....for any question, not just Verbal. I noticed you sometimes have to act "stupid" for the test. The MCAT is asking for basics...not advanced stuff. So if you see yourself over-thinking...then stop! Majority of the time, the right answer is the one that first caught your attention...the dumb, obvious ones. For verbal, usually, the right answer is the one that matches the main idea the most. And remember, think of the GENERAL main idea, not the ones in the beginning or end of the passage because those are too specific.
