Evolutionary psychiatrists view schizophrenia spectrum disorder as extremely high risk evolutionary strategies that fail much more often then not, but when they succeed they can succeed in a spectacular fashion. Take a look at the "great" dictators of the last century. There is little doubt in my mind that they were firmly in the schizophrenia spectrum.
