You can be granted a Health professions scholarship through the military before you are accepted into dental school. However, I have not heard of students applying for the scholarship anytime before the end of their junior year. Basically, you should start applying for the scholarship when you start applying for dental school. But chances are that you'll be granted the scholarship before you are officially accepted into any dental schools. The catch is that you can't actually swear in until you have an official dental school acceptance in hand.
