NBA Playoffs!

judgmental too. hard to take you seriously at all.

you're actually pretty funny. your "diehardness" makes me laugh like the crazy guy on the soap box.

Ever heard of something called fantasy basketball? you should check it out. Carmelo isn't ranked in the top 15 on most places.

Efficiency on NBA.com has Melo at #9.

Out of 300+ players, that's pretty good. I think everyone on this forum agrees that melo is a great player. He just isn't the best...not even close. (lebron vs melo)

Lol, you're right man, I'm wrong about him being a star player, I forgot about his fantasy stats. What was I thinking? Your arguements are pathetic. All they consist of is an insult about me being a lunatic, diehard fan, due to the fact that you can't say anything to refute what I've said. Ummmm, I didn't leave out anything of that article by the way, that's why I posted the link. Yeah, he's obviously not on Lebrons level (who is really?) but I never said he was. I just said you guys are fools thinking people like Deron Williams are better. Gimme a break and make some valid points.....or maybe you can talk some more about fantasy b-ball instead.

they're cursed...or just have fragile superstars.

tmac, mutombo, yao, and their rookie dorsey...all done for the year.

So Mutumbo is a superstar now, but you can't call Melo one?

you inferred i was saying mutombo is a superstar when they were in separate statements. once again, CALM DOWN.

besides mutombo will go down in history as one of the best shot blockers of all time...melo??? probably forgotten.

So Mutumbo is a superstar now, but you can't call Melo one?

you quote some random article calling the author as some scholar in basketball while ESPN is some opinion poll.

you have insulted EVERYONE that has posted on this board that isn't a nuggets fan.

i have used actual statistics and not personal opinions in my argument or pull out some random unsubstantiated article.

please relax. cheer for your team, but don't force us to do the same.

Ur funny man. I hope your reasoning skills are slightly better when it comes to medicine than it does basketball or logical arguments. But its all good, you continue focusing on your stats and not the actual games (although here's a stat you might like...

Ur funny man. I hope your reasoning skills are slightly better when it comes to medicine than it does basketball or logical arguments.

...and there it is, "Your basketball argument is weak, thus you MUST be a ****ty doctor, too."

This is a unique usage of Burnett's Law from a pre-dental student. Way to bring this thread down a notch, matty.

how about one of the worst no-calls ever to give 'Melo a wide open 3 to win that last game. I'm having a hard time remember a more egregious or deleterious no-call in basketball, since it completely changed the game.

and for all you non-Matty44's out there, it is an established fact that Carmelo has been the best "clutch" scorer in the league for a couple years. It just hasn't mattered very much, since the Nuggets haven't been good enough for it to make a difference. FWIW, at the mid-point of this season Kevin Durant had as many last-second game-winning baskets in his career as Lebron James, I think LeBron has stepped it up since then, so I think he passed him. Of course, the Cavs have won quite a few more games in that period than the Sonics/Thunder.

On further thought, I hope DO4life continues to use statistics to support his medical practice, as opposed to local bias.

Well, since you wanna keep posting nonsense...

Do you really read the words I write and process them in your head to glean some understanding of what they might have meant before you start pounding your keyboard with arrogant, angry strokes? Please show me where I said DO4 is probably a bad doctor cause he doesn't know basketball? I said I HOPE he's a better doctor than he is a logical debator or basketball guru because I would argue that he is quite lacking in both of the latter two areas. I'm sure he's a fine D.O. But lets try to put all the words in a sentence together and figure out what they are actually saying before we speak again, mmmmkay?

On further thought, I hope he practices evidence based medicine based off real statistics too, not fantasy stats, on which he apparently wants to judge Melo.

Calmly and Chill-ly Yours,
Matty

* How 'bout Wright (and most of the Mavs bench) throwing their hands up in the ol' "I didn't foul him motion" after the no call but before the shot went in?
* How 'bout Antoine not wrapping Melo up like most "intentional" fouls are committed?
* How 'bout the Mavs giving up a wide open dunk to Melo, up 4pts, with about 32 seconds left, leaving enough time on the clock for the nuggets to force Dallas to take a shot?
* How 'bout the coach actually doing his job and informing the refs that his players will be using the foul they had to give before the play starts (not assuming the refs would know, like Carlisle did)?
* How 'bout the Mavs actually HAVING a foul to give in the 4th quarter of a game with over 60 fouls called?
* And how 'bout Dirk and JKidd manning up (something whiny Rick can't seem to do) after the game and telling the press that they didn't lose the game because of the last call, but cause of their poor ability to close out the Nuggets?
* Finally, how 'bout the hypothetical irony that would exist if Melo misses and no one in Big D says the refs missed the call?

Lost in all the ref controversy is that Melo still steps up and drills the clutch three (shocker shocker).
In the words of Phil Jackson...."Give him some f***ing credit"

Enough said.

i got the notion that bertelman was joking.

i think i'll be a great doc because i am not quick to anger as some people, like those that post in these forums.

you ate after midnight?!! weren't you told not to eat or drink anything?! are you ******ed?! i refuse to do this case!! you're an idiot, and i refuse to help idiots!!

hahahaha....no way man.

today, a patient told me that i had the best bedside manner she has ever come across in her ripe ol' age. (not the first time i've been told that) 😍 when it comes to smarts...i don't think there is a solid way to judge that, unless we face off in jeopardy.

anyways, i'm loving the rockets vs lakers and magic vs celtics series...some actual playoff basketball....especially with rockets playing on one leg from the bench...kinda like isiah thomas back in the day. good times👍

I'm not sure you read your own posts. They are neither calm nor chill-ly. Lay off the condescension, and don't take yourself so damn seriously. We sure aren't.

My reading comprehension is fine, I know you didn't say he was a bad doctor. The inference was clear, though. "You deliver substandard basketball arguments, thus I question your ability as a doctor."

Ummmmm, nope. Not at all. Sorry. English class my friend.

This is the lamest possible thread on a potentially interesting topic, and it is primarily your fault, Broseph. I hope your forays in this forum stay on non-anesthesia topics, I'd hate to see what would come of that.

You're right. I'm sorry for using logic and reasoning in my posts as opposed to just typing the first thing that comes to my head. I'll try that approach next time. I'll gladly wait for any of you to show me something that I posted that was uncalm, illogical, or mean, or whatever. All the responses to my posts have been unfounded and haven't focused on what my posts actually have said. So show me something...but I won't be holding my breath. I fully expect another post ignoring what I said and just telling me to and my homerish self to calm down.

abrasive people don't think nor realize that they are abrasive.

In other news, i'm wondering if the magic can pull it off. they have a better team, but celtics got the "heart of a champion"... although the biggest heart goes to the rockets. instead of getting swept, taking the lakers to 6...maybe even 7 without their star players...thats awesome. 👍

out of all the teams, the cavs in the east and nuggets in the west have really shown some champion caliber play.

Like I said...

Care to show me an example of me being "abrasive"?

Not that I want to bring this thread back, but LeBron is just nasty out there tonight. Just finished a dunk -> blocked a shot -> dropped a 3.

Kobe better watch out.

how beautiful was it to see Kobe dribble the ball off his leg last night under 10 seconds to go and lose the game? How Jordan did he look then?
He is so arrogant, his own teammates don't like him. A good lesson for young players coming up. You can be more talented than Jordan physically and skill-set wise, but if your teammates don't respect and follow you, you can't win a championship without the most dominant center of all time (Shaq - 3 different teams to finals, 2 teams with championships).

Also, it is nice to see 'Melo cut his nappy braids off and look like a gentleman, sans the tattoos. Coming from an inner city high school, it is good to see a trend away from looking like rap stars. He also matured a lot. no more MElo, now Carmelo!

Awesome game last night. Not really a fan of the Lakers or Nuggets, but somewhat of an anti-Laker person. Putting Carmelo on Kobe seems like the defensive answer that the Nuggets need. Think the Lakers are in for a tough battle.

WoW! Tonight I was a WITNESS!!

Bouncing the ball off Kobe's back and scoring...............

🤣🤣🤣

yeah i LOL'd.

It is undeniable that Lebron is a fantastic player. However, I disapprove of all this who is better nonsense. They are both incredible athletes, and as such are captivating to watch. As far as the series are going however, I really don't think that Cleveland will be able to overcome the Magic. I just dont, period. Hopefully I will be proven wrong because I would love to see a Lakers Cavaliers championship. I just dont see it happening. Obviously LA will not sweep Denver, but little baby Matty will get to eat his words when his team gets to go home with west coast finals elimination.
