If I understood our dean correctly, it's because every few years NBDE reevaluates the cut off of whats pass/fail and this was the year they did that. Im sure there is more to it since the failure rate doubled from 6.3% to 12%
I bet Dental Secrets is owned by the ADA. Time to go into a new edition.
