Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone used the Kaplan stuff for the nbde part 1 exam?
Kaplan has two things on their website...
1) a review book for all the sciences in part 1 of the nbde exam
2) a qbank of 1000 questions available online with the explanations.

has anyone used the qbank of questions? are they worth buying? also is it worth using the kaplan review book or is the same stuff as the part 1 decks?

The Qbank questions are NOT worth paying for. They test a much greater amount of material than is on the NBDE. In fact, it seems they are probably the exact (or nearly) same questions as are used for the USMLE Step I questions. Of course, having said that, some students might appreciate them. But for the general test-taker (even one who wishes to score very, very high) I think that they are quite overkill.

The review book is good in parts, and certainly covers the same material as the Decks, although it is in a much different format.

both are a waste of time and money. Old tests are better than q-bank and the book is overkill.

UNLV OMS: Did you get the score you wanted? How was the study time alloted by our school? How was it going to summer session PLUS boards? I am kinda bothered that they make us stay for a "summer review" session instead of being able to study on our own... 😡
