Got my scores today. Was quite shocked, thought I bombed it, but did ok.

Got an 87 overall. I had been cursing myself the last two weeks for not studying enough!

OH< YEAH, BREAK TIME!!!!!!!!
 
An 87 is an excellent score, especially since you thought you FAILED the exam! Told ya you'd do well!

As an aside, I heard that the 7/12 written exam scores will be available on August 15, which is a full month ahead of when they are typically available. Perhaps the ADA has sped things up in their scoring of the exams. Anybody else get the same info?
 
They mentioned to us that we may want to check in with the dean early, since they get the scores before us. But thats all that was mentioned in my school!

One of our faculty members told me that this morning. I don't know how reliable the information is, and didn't bother to verify it with the Dean (incoming class started today/white coat ceremony), so I was hoping maybe somebody else had heard similar from their schools.

I'm still not expecting scores until the first week of September until I get that Aug. 15 date verified. Maybe I'll call the ADA today if I can overcome my laziness.

You guys get the white coat upon entry into school? They make us wait till our end of our second year. Even though we have treated patients throughout our second year!!!!!!

That is true, bunch of my classmates who took the computer version received their scores today as well! The number 1 in our class got a 98 overall! Very impressive!

106 in the class, 50 of us took it last year and the remaining took it this year. It was an experiement thing.

man u guys talking about scores get me all excited and nervous. I was trying to forget about it 😕 But now i got the itch waiting for my scores... kinda like the itch u get when u want to buy a new car. thanx a lot! :scared:

Did you take the exam on july 12th?
How many days after your exam you guys received the scores?..they say for cbt it's 12 days!?..So does your schools also receive it the same day?

Is it advisable to write the exam after 1st year or 2nd year? Just wondering not really worrying about yet.

Oh, my bad, eh. I fogot my canadian manners, eh.

I would probably take them eh, after my first year eh, if your not wanting a 90 +, eh. however, eh, you will probably get higher, eh, after you second year eh.

Only thing is eh, you will be DONE with it, eh, and not have to worry about it after your first year, eh.

I actually disagree and think it may be easier (at most schools) to get an excellent score after your first year, when the majority of the science material is fresher in your mind.

I do think dental anatomy would be much easier after 2nd year, though.
 
Again, I would say it depends on the school, We didn't have any path or micro until our second year. WE had all the others our first year so go figure.

Hey Yah-E,

From what you've heard from your classmates, or if you have the actual averages, which group of students did better? Just curious. At UIC we'll be taking 'em after the first year.

That is exact reason why we did this experiement at our school. We still have to wait for all the written version scores to come in, but once we get the results, I be sure to share it. Who knows at this point.

We didn't have path until 2nd yr. All the other courses including dental anat were covered 1st yr.

I called ADA shortly after the exam to see when the test results will be in. I was told it takes 6 weeks but they try to get them out by the 5th week, i.e. around 1st week of september. That's not including the week of July 12th, when we took the written

Please let me know if you hear differently!!! I'd much rather know on Aug. 15!! :laugh:

Well, 6 weeks IS the week of August 15, or if you don't count the week we took it, then it's 5 weeks.

So maybe that IS the date they are shooting for!
 
Anybody who took the paper version heard anything from their administrations yet, or called the ADA and have anything to report?

I'm getting a bit anxious again. I tend to fluctuate between thinking I failed some sections and thinking I passed.

You passed. There are not any sections that you didn't pass, only sections you did very well on and sections you did less than very well on. Trust me.
 
You should have seen me the day I knew it was in the mail! I was walking around my house praying all day!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I opened it up and seen pass, I was so relieved!!!!!!!


You did great on it, no need to worry!!!! 😀

I think around the first week of September.
 
I talked to the class above mine and they received their scores around August 23rd. This seems to be right around the six week mark. I need to be a little more patient! 😱

According to the ADA, it should be a little bit earlier this year. With the computer exam now in place, they are trying to get scores out for the written sooner than before. Previously 8 weeks was pretty much the norm, but Norm (pardon the pun) at Testing Services told me that they were shooting for 5-6 weeks (next week or the following week).
 
Cool. The sooner the better. Although I'm trying not to think about it much right now.

Cool, they often give several different stories when you call those numbers, so it's nice that our stories are consistant with each other.
 
I just called them (at 1:30pm eastern time), and they told me they are going to mail them by this friday. Hopefully it is before then though, because I am getting anxious.

I called them today too, and got the same answer as grtuck, so hopefully by tuesday we should be getting the much awaited results....

Well that was pretty mean!
 
My brother called this afternoon. They said FOR SURE that everything (to us and to the dental schools) leaves on friday. The difference is that they send it to the schools express or something.
