I have seen so many good biochemistry and physiology questions being posted in the "Anatomy Questions" thread. Let's post the Biochem and Physiology questions in this thread to have them organized for future reference.

MAC molecules are found where?
a.cytoplasm
b.nuclear membrane
c.cell membrane
d. blood proteins

The complement proteins are found in an inactive form in the blood, unless they are activated by the immune system to bind to each other and form a pore in the cell membrane of bacteria. The answer is "blood proteins".

it's on the surface of bacterial cells which are made of complement proteins. it's one of immune system ways to kill the bacteria.

Blocking the hypothalamic-hypophyseal venous portal system increases the secretion of which of the following?

  1. Prolactin
  2. Oxytocin
  3. ACTH
  4. TSH
I am confused , even if it blochs the inhibitory hormones , if should improve the secretion of both TSH and Prolactin.

I believe the ans for the above is Prolactin. Hypothalamus produces Prolactin Inhibiting hormone,so when this is blocked more prolactin is formed[since there is nothing to inhibit it]
Hypothalamus produces TRH[ Thyrotropin Releasing hormone] which cause release of TSH ,so when this is blocked,it reduces TSH
Hope I am right!🙂
