NBEO Part 1 Book Question

Hello guys,

I'm posting on the behalf of a friend of mine who will be taking NBEO Part 1 soon. She was wondering if the Berkeley book was worth purchasing. If not, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could recommend a worthwhile study book.

I haven't taken the boards yet, but I've been told that the book by Linda Casser is very good -- it's called "1000s of Questions Review" or something like that (sorry I don't remember the name exactly).

I hear less good things about the Berkeley book, but since there aren't that many NBEO review books, most people seem to get it anyway. I bought one used for pretty cheap, maybe your friend can do the same.

Both are o.k. Does anyone know the pass rate for ICO in part I

Dr Casser's book questions are actually harder than the part 1 exam. But, it'll give you some idea of how things work.

Berkeley guide has errors, but is very comprehensive. I studied Berkeley, Casser and Schwartz's visual perception and did just fine 🙂

So, uh, cpw, what are you doing this August? I think with the right hair and makeup touches you could look a lot like Ms. r_salis.

What does NEBO stand for? How many parts to the board exam do you have to take in order to be license to practice as an Optometrist? Is there a difference between a state and a board exam?

NBEO stands for National Board of Examiners in Optometry

You have to take three parts for the national exam and then each state has their own exam (or board) for their state.

So, each OD's taking at least four licensing exams.
