Ok so I just took NBME 4, and the score intepretation guide that I got under my score breakdown is different from my NBME 1,2,5. For example, on my NBME 1,2,5 its 330 = 172.... but on NBME 4 its 330 = 185. Did anyone else notice is, or is this a glitch on mine?

This is something I also was curious about b/c the CBSSA scores dropped and the 3-dig was raised. Did NBME update their scores based on reports?

There's a difference between forms 5 and 6 as well. I just figured the scores were different to take into account the difficulty of the exam?

Yah I assumed it was due to the difficulty of the exam and ppl not scoring as highly on it. Let's hope it's that and not a glitch 🙂

That's an interesting thought, but i would be surprised if NBME took the time to make that kind of change, as it was not the case before march '09. I know b/c I took form 6 at end of feb, scored 420=192. Took form 6 again last wk, scored 380=196. hmmm

why take the same form twice?

to judge my progression. no matter which form you take, they all test the same thing, your understanding of the basic sciences. i did the same form b/c i felt it would more accurately determine if i am learning my material. i feel this took away the chance, that perhaps being more comfortable w/ a diff set of Qs would influence my score more so than my knowledge....long way around to say...b/c i wanted to 😀

But sense you've already seen those questions - wouldn't you be a LOT more comfortable with those questions vs. a new set of questions you hadn't seen. Taking the same form would be testing your memory of those questions (and the thought process) more so than testing your progression.

not trying to get on your case or judge, just trying provide some friendly advice. I'd recommend taking another form. In any form you take, it's natural to feel like you know questions that if asked a different way, etc - you'd perform differently

good thought, but if i were just testing memory/thought process i would have gotten the same score. also my performance bars changed w/ respect to the subjects i've been studying. biochem still killing, but just began studying FA.
by comfortable, i didn't mean a warm fuzzy feeling, no i meant that if seeing a different Q subject that i had more knowledge of, compared to another, affected my score then i didn't believe that would accurately reflect my progression.
i do appreciate the feedback, at least your trying to help 👍
what could also help is any advice for biochem, hopefully FA will cover my weaknesses.
