Could someone please comment about the significance of the score variance for subject topics on the nbme forms? Even though my scores for nbme 4 and uwsa1 came very close to one another their variance for each individual disciplines certainly did not. As such, each revealed different weak subject areas I needed to work on. Also, which nbme form tests cardio, gi or pharm more heavily than others, as these are my weakest areas (I am assuming the more questions the more statistically significant the variance and representative the score of actual performance)?

I've had the same experience just between different NBME's - I am just assuming that if I underperformed in that area on even one test, it probably means I need to work on it...

I took NBME 11 today and tanked on the behavioral sciences; there's a very simple reason for that though--I haven't really studied them much.

this happened to me too. to figure out ur weak areas i suggest you compare the width of the bands. For example if NBME 11 shows Cardio with short band then this should be more important than NBME 12 with long band in cardio. In my case, my NBME 7 showed very short band with start in my respiratory then in NBME 6 it showed a very long band from borderline to the very end of the low performance area. So i believed NBME 7 more than NBME 6.
