I am taking the NBME Neuroscience Shelf a week (not the Neurology Shelf that you take during 3rd and 4th year as a part of the clinical rotations).

Are there any images or x-rays on the neuroscience shelf?

If so, what is a good resource to review the images and x-rays (high yield, pretest, brs, etc.)?

I keep confusing it with my block exams, but I am pretty sure there are some images on there. High Yield neuroscience has some images in the first chapter or so, and you can always give your atlas a once over.

Going back to 2nd year, I'm pretty sure there are images and illustrations on the exam. I recall seeing slices of the spinal cord and brainstem, with associated questions.

There were definitely some CTs, MRIs, and brain sections, but probably only 10%-20% or so of the questions had them. There were also a handful of cartoon brain/brainstem/spinal cord diagrams with arrows pointing to different areas asking about lesion locations or levels. As far as resources go, I used mostly class notes and the Haines neuranatomy atlas, which is great for studying the images and for the conceptual understanding of tract/nuclei locations.
