Hii

is it really necessary to take practice exams?

how is it a good indicator of performance on real exam?

I can get share of qs from topics and subtopics that i know well and score good. It can go other way too.

UW qs in random mode is also good to check recall and preparedness.

what do u y'll think?

Practice exams are necessary because it takes some time to get used to the wording of multiple choice questions on the real test; you might encounter a fact that you know but get the question wrong due to the wording - thats where practice comes in handy.

Its a very good indicator of performance on the real test!

UW questions in random mode is excellent for preparation

Necessary? Absolutely. There's no bigger mistake than not taking a series of practice exams before your test. You need to be able to sit there and work through 4 blocks without knowing your performance on previous blocks. There is crazy psychological thing at work there. If you thinik you did bad in a block, your concentration is ruined for subsequent blocks but you must maintain focus and avoid dumb mistakes even when your confidence is low.

Do practice tests!!!!!!!!!!!! Some NBME concepts and problems show up on t he real exam.
