i have just a few days left before i take step I. i was planning on taking the practice nbme exam and was wondering if you all would recommend looking up answers after (or during) the practice exam or just taking it to see where i stand.

Take this posting with a grain of salt. I took form A 10 days before and Form B 5 days before. I used the standard testing mode. Form A, 440, Form B 430. Both scores foreshadow a low passing score. (Oasis says I passed, but I do not know my score yet) For me, I was more stressed about the NBME than the real deal. A score below 400 can mean bad news. A score of 500+ predicts good things. I'm glad I did it, because I felt NO stress on test day. it was nice. I wish I could say it will correlate well, but I don't know my score, (hopefully above 80#$%!) Some will say do the long version so you can look up answers. I can't respond to that. I had ONE repeat question from my NBME on the real exam, with a DIFFERENT ANSWER!!!( They asked from same column, but different value) OK confused?? I think looking up questions will be a bit of waste, but look at my score...maybe I should have..ha! 😎

I took both forms 2 days before the exam and there were at least 5 repeats on the real thing. Also, as with most other people, the scores on my practice tests correlated really well with the real thing.
