I just took two blocks of the free NBME questions and found them to be really easy. Don't get me wrong, I didn't get 100% but I averaged around a 85% and have been averaging mid to high 50's on UW. It's definitely a great confidence booster, but for those of you who took the exam I am wondering if you thought these free questions were in any way representative of the real thing or if they were way easier.

Also, is there any way to get explanations to these questions?

To me they seemed WAY easier. I was getting 64% on USMLEworld then I took the free NBME test and got around 90%. I still haven't gotten my step 2 score back, so I don't know which is closer.

i'm sooooo with you mizzrazz...these nbme seem like an amazing confidence booster but i wonder how much of it is false hope?
I'd love to hear from those that took the real deal and compare them please.

thanks

I haven't taken the real thing yet (this Friday) but I agree with everyone. I took the released items at the start of my studying and got an 81% (this is before world/FA) and have a 58% average (all random and timed) with 88% completed.

Good luck to everyone!
