Step I NBME shelf / Kaplan 2

Can anyone tell if the kaplan step 2 books are any good for the NBME shelf exams for clinical clerkships? I have the opportunity to get them cheap. Or should I stick with the usual review books:blueprints/recall/pretest?

I have the Kaplan Step 2 and they are really really thorough, and I am contmeplating if I really need to go into all the depth.....

I will do some practivce questions...and see how I fare....

What would you say are the best books to use to prep as far as ?'s for SHELF exams:
This is what I've heard:
Surg: Appleton and Lange, Pre-test
Psych: ???
Peds: Pre-test, Peds in Review
OB/GYN: Pre-test
Med: MKSAP 2 and Physical Diagnosis Pre-test
