I read that some people here got the NBME survey. Someone at my school told me that only people who fail/get poor scores get the survey. So today I got the survey and I'm a bit freaked out (to say the least). Can someone tell me if they know for sure that this is or isn't true. I really really hope it isn't. The letter that accompanies it says "You were selected from the population of USMLE Step 1 examinees to receive the enclosed survey..." It doesn't mention anything about a random selection.

I haven't gotten my score yet, but I received the survey 2 days after I took the exam. I hope they wouldn't know my score that fast!
