Hi, does anyone know how to convert NBOME shelf scores into percentiles, I'm trying to find what honors (90%) would be. I've heard that schools get score reports but I've not seen anything like that. I'm specificly interested in the psychiatry shelf if anyone has past experience, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you are referring to NBME. In that case, the usual average is 70-80 with a standard deviation of 7-8 points.

Why would you assume the OP is talking about NBME shelf exams and not NBOME shelf's?

Then what did I take cause I'm pretty sure it was psychiatry...

The NBME shelf ? I am just going by the NBOME website. The only NBOME shelf I have ever taken was the comprehensive OMM shelf. Other than that, I am not aware of any other shelves that they have (so far).

All my shelf exams from last year were from NBME. If your school does not convert your shelf scores into a grade like mine does (ie. A, B, C, etc), I think it might be based on the standard deviation from the mean of your class to get honors, high pass, pass, etc. Not completely sure though
