NBOME website busted?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's been down all day. I have never seen a website of this magnitude be down for so long. Here are a couple of explanations:

1. The site admin has no idea
2. The site admin knows, but has no idea how to change their DNS to point to a page that gives an explanation
3. The site admin is on vacation
4. There is no site admin
5. Somebody hacked the site and the error hasn't been found
6. The NBOME stores the exam questions on their site, and it was compromised, so, in an effort to reduce the loss of content, the site is taken offline. (least likely, but my favorite explanation).
7. Some grouchy student that failed PE hacked the site to change their score, but screwed up and brought the whole thing down :meanie:

Umm...big update.

I just spoke with a fellow student that was in the middle of COMLEX and the computer froze. In fact, the other 8 DO students couldn't finish their exams, either. They were told it was a server outage.

What does this mean? The Prometrics transmits the exam live to a location on nbome.org. This is absolutely ludicrous! First, network outages like these can happen, which will cause the exam to die. Why not queue it at the beginning of the exam, and then transmit at the end of the day? Also, the possibility of compromise is very real, given this information.

I'm not a fan of electronic testing for this reason. Oh, the growing pains.
